e.g.etal recently hosted an evening in which we presented a collection of over 100 precious gems from all over the world. The gallery became a studio in which Katherine Bowman, Julia deVille and Emma Goodsir explored ideas, designs and stories with clients who chose a stone (or stones) to form the basis for pieces of jewellery. Each artist created new designs for the night and gave an overview of their work, providing an insight into their inspiration and creative process. Katherine, Julia and Emma then sat down with clients for individual consultations, crafting a unique piece of jewellery to be loved for a lifetime.

A gemstone patiently forms beneath the earth over thousands of years. Time moves oceans, mountains and dirt and it is brought to the surface: deep, clear and brilliant. It is by some celestial serendipity that a stone crosses your path…these stones have a story, and jewellery itself has the enduring capacity to trace the stories of our lives: in a gemstone each facet is a moment, a milestone, a memory.
