e.g.etal is thrilled to present LINE/FORM/FLOW by Rachael Grigulis, a collection of silver and gemstone jewellery inspired by the geometric forms and illustrations of M.C.Escher. You can shop the collection here.
Honouring three of Escher’s seemingly ‘impossible’ drawings, Grigulis extends her interpretation of Escher’s art through the expression of her own line style, and the use of light and dark, in this body of work.
Comprising a wide collection of mind-bending jewellery, this exhibition abstracts and reimagines Escher’s concepts in physical form. Standout pieces include the Form #1 Necklace, an ode to Metamorphosis by Escher, spotlighting a Smoky Quartz stone with gold rutiles, the shape morphing from square at the front to oval at the back. Line #1 Necklace references Belvedere and it’s illusive arches, while Flow #1 Necklace echoes Mobius, a single snake chain combining blackened and polished silver to form a continuous line.
LINE/FORM/FLOW will exhibit at e.g.etal gallery from 15 August to 4 September, 2024.
