Inspired by its namesake, this special ‘In The Mood For Love Ring’ is a tribute to Wong Kar-Wai’s iconic film where saturated, bold colours are at the forefront. A freeform Australian parti sapphire in shifting shades of yellow and green hues showcase colours that repeatedly appear throughout the film’s interiors and wardrobe. The dynamic interior and irregular shape of the sapphire reflects the emotional turbulence experienced by its two main characters, housed within sharp talon claws to express a sense of tension and vulnerability. As more time is spent together, a quiet intimacy grows between them, resulting in deep longing and eventually, to love. To symbolise this blossoming romance, a smaller octahedral red spinel is included. Its vibrant hue and soft, rounded claws speak to the tenderness and nurturing energy of their bond.
Tessa’s exciting first collection for e.g.etal is titled ‘True Romance’, inspired by cinematic love stories reimagined into modern heirlooms. Each piece beautifully captures the essence of love stories, explored through colours, textures and materials.
