Anna Davern
Anna Davern’s eclectic work reflects a variety of influences and obsessions, exploring the sentimental nature of jewellery and the miniature object. Alongside her diverse exhibition practice, Anna creates a refined collection of wearable jewellery. She explores graphic shapes and colours in her range of reef earrings and neckpieces and her collection of rings featuring precious metals and gemstones is inspired by the intersection of the organic and the mechanistic.
Anna studied for her undergraduate degree at Sydney College of the Arts and completed post graduate studies at RMIT in Melbourne. She has taken part in masterclasses with Karl Fritsch, Davide Bigazzi and Bettina Speckner and has taught at NMIT and Box Hill Institute of TAFE. She has also taught at the Estonian Academy of Arts during her time there as Artist in Residence in 2007. Anna has been represented by e.g.etal from its very first days and has had three solo exhibitions at the gallery as well as three solo exhibitions at Craft Victoria.
