Katherine Bowman’s work is informed both by the natural world and the history of art. She has a particular interest in how we imbue an object with meaning and the consequent relationship the object has with the body it adorns.
Katherine’s first degree was a Bachelor of Arts with a Double Major in Fine Art History from the University of Melbourne from 1988 -1991. She then completed a degree with Honours in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT in 2001. In 2002, Katherine received an Australian Post Graduate Award and completed a Master of Arts through RMIT.
Katherine is a founding member of Northcity4, a not for profit studio and school in Brunswick Victoria. She has taught in the Fine Art department at RMIT since 2006.
