Ideas & exploration
Enjoy a relaxed meeting with one of our consultants, sipping on herbal tea or a dash of Prosecco! Our goal is to truly understand your unique style and values so we can pair you with the perfect artist who aligns with your vision. And don’t worry if you’re not in Melbourne—we’re well-versed in virtual meetings via email or Zoom, ensuring a seamless experience no matter where you’re located.
Design consultation
As we narrow down your design choices, we’ll guide you through all the finer details. We can advise on appropriate stones and finishes, taking into account your lifestyle and how you’d like to wear the piece. From expert ring sizing to transparent budget discussions, we ensure smooth collaboration. If you can’t make it to our gallery, we’ve got you covered with remote ring sizing solutions.
Quotation
Once we have your brief, the artist will set to work preparing a quotation for you, sourcing the best possible stone for your commission. In some cases, where there are multiple options, we can send photos or videos of the stone options, or set up a stone viewing to see the gems in person.
The green light
Once you’ve decided on your stone and any other options, we’ll confirm all the final details with you and give the artist the go-ahead to begin making. A 50% deposit is required at this stage.
Handcrafting
The artist will gather materials and begin making your bespoke piece. This will take approximately 4-6 weeks, depending on complexity. We’ll keep in touch with any updates to this timeline.
Final touches
Once your piece is ready, we will take care of any optional services you’ve chosen, such as engraving or an independent valuation. Your piece will be beautifully wrapped and presented with a card detailing the artist’s practice, ready for collection or posting to you.

FAQ
-
After your consultation, you should expect a quote within one week. Quotes are valid for two weeks. When you’re ready to go ahead, the making process usually takes 4-6 weeks. Some artists have longer lead times due to their specific making process, so if that’s the case we will advise you at the time of your consultation. If you have a special occasion in mind, please let us know so we can ensure we’re able to meet your deadline.
-
Our artists do not charge more for making a custom piece. Your piece may be priced differently from a similar ready-made piece, however this will be due to differences in materials costs or ring size.
-
All our makers are highly-skilled artists who work within a distinct aesthetic. We encourage you to choose an artist whose work speaks to you and whose designs you admire. From there, you can look at some existing and past pieces to customise details such as stone choice, metal and various design elements. Please note that our artists are not able to mimic designs from other jewellers, or take inspiration from other makers.
-
If you’re in Melbourne, we encourage you to visit our gallery to have your ring size measured by one of our consultants. If that’s not possible, we can send you a free ring-sizing kit to use at home. However, the best solution is to visit a local reputable jeweller and have them take your size. Depending on the shape or the width of the ring, we can advise what measurements are best to take.
-
Our artists are happy to custom make earrings, rings, necklaces, wristwear and more.
-
Many of our artists are happy to create a new piece using your own gemstones that have special significance to you. We’ll work with you to create a design brief for the artist, have your stones professionally inspected and unset, and can help sell any remaining gold.
The process takes a little longer than a standard commission and requires some special handling, and an inspection fee. This is indicative of the time, care and consideration with which we treat your sentimental piece. To enquire further, please book an appointment.

Once a custom order has been placed it cannot be cancelled. As your piece is being hand made by an individual artist to suit your specific requirements, we ask you to understand that the finished product cannot be returned or exchanged. If you change your mind regarding any details, including size, we will do our best to have any adjustments made. However any changes made after the order has been placed will be at your expense.
