Collection Launch: Modern Love by Phoebe Porter

Modern Love is a new collection of jewellery by contemporary jeweller Phoebe Porter, exhibiting at e.g.etal from 13th of May 2022.

The pieces explore geometric abstraction and compositional balance to create future heirlooms that resonate with the influences of early modernism and elegant industrial minimalism. Made with an emphasis on yellow gold and coloured gemstones, these exquisite pieces amplify the inherent beauty of their materials, celebrate love and represent the intimate connections between people, place and time. They are locally produced entirely in Phoebe’s studio and made to last for generations. Each design can be the starting point for a customised iteration, made to exactly fit the wearer and reflect their unique identity.

Phoebe deliberately expresses each finishing point and fabrication method in her work. This approach resonates through her past collections. Through the expression of rivets, seams and the clear articulation of individual components through form, she seeks to celebrate the hand made nature of her work and invite the audience to a deeper curiosity about how things are made. Phoebe is acutely aware of the importance of jewellery in one’s life. They are gifts that celebrate love, mark important milestones and are living pieces that express a person’s interests, values and individuality. All the pieces made for Modern Love are designed to be worn, cherished, and eventually passed on through generations.
