LINE/FORM/FLOW by Rachael Grigulis is an exhibition of silver and gemstone jewellery inspired by the geometric forms and illustrations of M.C.Escher.
Form #1 Necklace in sterling silver with golden rutilated smoky quartz is inspired by Escher’s work “Metamorphisis”. This shape is morphed from square at the front to oval at the back, as well as silver on the left to black on the right.
Honouring three of Escher’s seemingly ‘impossible’ drawings, Grigulis extends her interpretation of Escher’s art through the expression of her own line style, and the use of light and dark, in this body of work. Comprising a wide collection of mind-bending jewellery, this exhibition abstracts and reimagines Escher’s concepts in physical form.
Pieces from this collection will be shipped at the conclusion of the exhibition (from 5 September, 2024).
