The Natural Contrast Signet Ring in yellow gold is a handmade piece by Lauren Trojkovic, created for e.g.etal’s exhibition Site Specific.
“My current predicament revolves around the transition from city to country. An urban environment to a more natural one. Having lived in suburban Melbourne my whole life, I am naturally inspired by the city’s urban edginess. However, a change of scenery brought about by a tree change to regional Victoria has changed my perspective. I can’t help but be inspired by the commute through the Wombat State Forest. The dappled light as it travels through the tree canopy. The greenery and serenity. Over time the appeal and inspiration I once found in Melbourne’s urban environment has worn off and been replaced by much more chaotic, organic and natural stimulus.”
Site Specific, presented as part of Radiant Pavilion Naarm/Melbourne Contemporary Jewellery and Object Biennial, is an exhibition that pays homage to the relationship between the interior and exterior of our being, and the inability to separate oneself from their environment.
Pieces from this collection will be shipped at the conclusion of the exhibition (from 3 October, 2024).
