Lord Mayor’s Small Business Award Win!

We’re thrilled to announce that e.g.etal recently received a Lord Mayor’s Small Business Award recognising more than 20 years in the city! This prestigious award acknowledges and celebrates Melbourne’s longstanding independent small businesses, and the people who run them.

To commemorate this achievement, director Chelsea Gough spoke with Melbourne News about the extraordinary influence the gallery has had on the creative and small business landscape.

“..at e.g.etal we want the artists we represent to be known for their skill and talents, and to support them to produce beautiful, contemporary work,” Chelsea said.

“This award recognises the hundreds of artists whose work has graced our gallery over the years… and founders Emma Goodsir and Ali Limb, who had the vision to bring e.g.etal to life over 25 years ago.”

e.g.etal was started in 1998 with the help of a small business grant from the City of Melbourne. Since then, the gallery has grown to represent 57 artists from Australia and New Zealand, with some international guests. e.g.etal now occupies a beautiful light-filled space on Little Collins St, showcasing a broad range of designers, hosting regular exhibitions and events, and working with clients to commission pieces that will be treasured and handed down through generations.
