A tower of golden discs set with a trio of rubies, handmade by Elizabeth Kennedy. This new body of work references her degree in sculpture, where notions of memory, space and the body were her guiding inspirations. These new pieces explore motion, through a suggestion of moving parts and levels of different textures, like memories and loved ones stacked and in flux. These pieces become a keepsake to hold close, representing loved ones. Layers, imperfect and beautiful. Gems to number the ones held close. A small wearable tower, strong, imperfect, beautiful and beloved. These pieces create their own stories which are both sculptural and personal, adored and treasured.
