Todd Reed arrives at e.g.etal
e.g.etal is now the exclusive Australian representative for Todd Reed, an American contemporary jeweller renowned for creating works of art using recycled metals and sustainably sourced raw and fancy-cut diamonds. As one of the first artists to recognise the beauty of raw diamonds in precious jewellery, Reed has built a 25 year business creating one-of-a-kind hand-forged pieces, designed by the artist and crafted by master jewelers in his Boulder, Colorado studio.
e.g.etal director Emma Goodsir said that representing Reed’s work in Australia is a natural fit. “Todd’s philosophies of authenticity, innovation and craftsmanship align perfectly with our guiding principles.”
e.g.etal now has a select collection on display, with full access to anything available at Todd’s studio for custom orders and commissions.
Todd Reed believes e.g.etal is the ideal avenue to expand his work internationally. “For the past few years we have been aware of interest in our designs in Australia,” said Reed. “This partnership with e.g.etal is exciting and I am very much looking forward to having my designs represented and works collected in Melbourne. My honest and direct approach to jewelry design is a welcome complement to the conscious Australian collector.”
Reed creates an alchemy of precious metals and stones that merge rugged natural beauty with refined sculptural elegance. Each piece is designed by Reed and hand-forged by one jeweller from start to finish, under Reed’s supervision. Every master goldsmith in Reed’s studio stamps their work with their own personal maker’s mark. This stamp plus the Todd Reed signature hallmark provide a strong statement of provenance, acknowledging the relationship each maker has with the pieces they create.
Todd Reed jewellery will be officially launched at e.g.etal Melbourne on Thursday 22 June, 2017.
