Anna Davern and Vicki Mason in SCHMUCK 2025

e.g.etal is thrilled to celebrate the gallery’s represented artists, Anna Davern and Vicki Mason, and their selection for SCHMUCK 2025.

The SCHMUCK exhibition, held from 12 to 16 March in Munich, is a premier international showcase of contemporary jewellery art, featuring the latest works from approximately 60 artists selected from nearly 800 applications.

Charlie’s Hunt by Anna presents a series of alternative designs for the new Australian coins featuring King Charles III. Using her signature techniques of metal collage and assemblage, Anna cuts and rearranges images from old biscuit tins to craft a fantastical narrative chronicling the life of an imaginary prince, drawing parallels with events in the life of Prince Charles. Through these alternative coin designs, she playfully interrogates the significance of the British monarchy in shaping post-colonial Australian cultural identity.

As Vicki dives deeper into learning about the Acacia (wattle) genus, she found herself inspired by the Albert Einstein quote: “The more I learn the more I realise how much I don’t know”. Her reversible necklaces are embedded with hidden words that name specific plants, tell stories and reveal facts about the genus.

A fantastic achievement by Anna and Vicki, and we wish them all the best!
